The Obituary
Our beloved mother and friend was called to be with the Lord on June 12, 2009, she was eighty-four years old.
LENA MAE BONNEAU was one of sixteen children born to the late Nelson and Margie Davis of Bladen Boro, North Carolina on February 2, 1925. She attended the public schools there, and later moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with her sisters. She held various jobs as a nursing assistant and a laborer in a factory, but her most important job to us was really a labor of love in caring for her family.
Lena was married to the late Marion C. Bonneau. They were blessed with four children.
Lena was known and loved in the neighborhood, affectionately called Miss Lena. She loved to work in the community garden in the evening, where she would chat with all the neighbors. She would help them with their gardens, too with information on how to do things. She was a very giving and caring person always giving something to someone, because she was blessed with enough. She would always have her co-workers over for lunch for meals that she prepared.
Lena was preceded in death by two sons, Alexander and Melvin. She leaves behind to cherish her memory: one son, Michael; one daughter, Laura; three grandchildren, Levon, Tiffany and Tina; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ella and Rena; three daughters-in-law, Phyllis, Brenda and Vanessa; one son-in-law, Clarence; one brother-in-law, Charlie; one sister-in-law, Mary; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Revelation 22:5
There shall be no night there. They need no lamp, nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever.
