The Obituary
DIARRA KANDIA CHAMBERLAIN (SMUDGY) was born on March 17, 1971 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Ernest Chamberlain and Sylvia Chamberlain-Gray. Diarra was an only child. Diarra accepted Christ at an early age. He enjoyed accompanying his grandparents when they attended religious services at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He attended private school in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania as a member of the mentally gifted program. Diarra participated in debating the principles of the United States Constitution during a reenactment of the Ratification Convention at the State Capitol in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the U. S. Constitution by the Pennsylvania General Assembly on December 12, 1987. Diarra graduated from Johnson and Wales University in Miami, Florida. He continued his education in Denver, Colorado where he was working on a Master's Degree in International Business. He was a diligent student with a bright future. Diarra studied the piano for many years. He frequently entertained family and friends. He enjoyed traveling having traveled extensively as a child with his mother. He enjoyed lively conversations in which he freely expressed his opinions. Everyone will miss his insightful comments. Family members always said, "Smudgy will be Smudgy". His passing has created a gulf in the lies of his many relatives and friends who will forever cherish the memories of his short existence on this earth.
