GWENDOLYN YVETTE was born the daughter of the late Gwendolyn Lelia Willis (Harmon) and the late Stanley Richard Willis on September 11, 1951.
At an early age, she was baptized at the New Bethlehem Baptist Church in West Philadelphia, where she attended Sunday school. A product of the Philadelphia school system, Gwen graduated from Overbrook High School in 1969. She married Jeremiah Small and their union produced one daughter, Kenyetta Small. Gwen enjoyed the secretarial/administrative field and worked with several hospitals including Parkside, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Mercy Fitzgerald and Hahnemann.
Unfortunately, Gwen became ill in late 2001, but continued to pursue the things she enjoyed. Gwen loved the earth, and if not found on a beach enjoying a family vacation, she could be found in her garden, where she took great pride in her floral and plant arrangements. With a keen eye and great hands, Gwen was involved in many craft and design projects around her home including interior design, sewing, painting and later, creating jewelry. Gwen was always one to open her home to entertain guests, and greatly enjoyed playing pinochle.
Gwen was a strong woman, a loving mother and grandmother, and her grandchildren were treasures she cherished dearly. Gwen was a devoted companion for 25 years to Charles E. Coleman.
Gwen leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Kenyetta Fagan; son-in-law, Anthony Fagan; four grandchildren, Kaiya, Aiyanna, Kemia, and Anthony, Jr.; special friend, Charles Coleman; aunts and uncles, cousins and a host of family and friends.
Our Heavenly Father knows the limits of our endurance and understands precisely how much each of us can bear.
Sorrowfully submitted,
The Family
