The Obituary
MALCOLM CLIFTON JACKSON, JR., son of the late Malcolm and Clementine Jackson, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 4, 1929. He was the oldest of three children, including the late Bernard Jackson and the late Virginia Sutton. Malcolm followed his sister, Virginia, to glory four months after her passing. He departed this life on May 3, 2008 at Abington Memorial Hospital.
Malcolm, affectionately called "Mike," attended Philadelphia public schools and graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School. Malcolm later enrolled in the United States Army and he was a veteran of the Korean War.
He married Mozelle Walker and from that union, Thomas Eugene Jackson was born. Thomas preceded Malcolm in death on May 26, 1994. Malcolm later married Bertha Jones and they remained close until his death.
Malcolm was fascinated with educating children and he worked as a paraprofessional for the Philadelphia Board of Education. Malcolm also spent time actively engaged in his favorite hobby, photography. He especially loved taking black and white photos and developing pictures in his own home. Malcolm loved his family and his community and he assisted many neighbors to the supermarket and to their doctor's appointment. Malcolm also loved to engage people in lively conversations.
Malcolm was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and the Phillies. He enjoyed watching sports and movies with his neighbors. Every Saturday morning, Malcolm woke up and tuned into his favorite cartoons. Malcolm had a thirst for knowledge and enjoyed reading both fictional and non-fictional books.
Malcolm leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Bertha Jackson and her daughter, Sharon Waller. He leaves his devoted nieces, Linda Coger and Sharon Stephens and their husbands, William Coger and Dennis Stephens. Malcolm leaves his great-nieces, Karin Coger and Alisha Stephens and his great-nephew, Jarrett Coger.
Malcolm will be missed by Mozelle Jackson and their daughter-in-law, Cheryl Jackson, who loved him dearly. He also leaves his grandson, Thomas Jamal Jackson and his sons, Thomir and Mekhi Jackson and he leaves his granddaughter, Heather Terrell and her husband, Anthony Terrell and their children, Wynter Terrell and Simone Hubert.
Lovingly submitted,
The Family
