The Obituary
THELMA HAWKINS was born on July 3, 1934, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late James and Estelle Hawkins. She was educated in the Philadelphia school system.
Thelma met Raymond Seawell and they were married in 1952. This union was blessed with six children and two step-children.
She was baptized and raised up in the Church of God in Christ all her life. Until her illness, she attended the Dean Mother of Cub Houses, a community activists, caring and raising up so many children in a child care center, In later years she owned her own day care center, and served as an Eastern Star in 1977. She was well known to Holy Temple Church of God In Christ for numerous years, serving on the Senior Usher Board for God. She loved the Lord dearly.
Thelma leaves behind: four daughters, Thelma Seawell, the late Stephanie Seawell, Theresa Cotton and Sharon Seawell-Seward; two sons, Gregory Seawell and Anthony Hawkins; two step-children, Starletta Seawell and Dencosta Seawell; three sons-in-law, Randy Lane, Bernard Cotton and Bernard Seward; two daughters-in-law, Debra Seawell and Valtery Hawkins; grandchildren, Lawanna, Carl, Sean, James (a very special grandson, whom she raised as her own), Rasheed, Nicole, Kareen, Troy, Basil, Baseemah, Jasmine, Rasheeda, Monlangerie (Muffin), Syreeta, Taiyah and Theresa; great-grands, Alana, Nadasia, Janiyah, Janayh, Kayla, Zaquirah, Isaibella, AJ, Zykee, Daiyaan, Kareem, Justin, Abdull, Jahleel and Jamer; and a host of other relatives and friends.
